Okay, so I know that I said it would take 24 hours to finish this overhaul of the site, but I just can't find the time to do it all right now. I haven't forgotten about you readers though, here's a quick update on what I'm working on:
Firstly I GOT A REAL JOB. I'm working at yet another cafe/roastery in the Toronto, loving it. That's the main reason I haven't been blogging or doing anything online really.
I went home to visit for my brother's baby shower. CRAZY, my little bother is having a kid. Strange.
I've been crafting up a storm. Lots of custom orders for Mother's Day. I've also been working on some new stuff in the felted realm. I can't wait to show the finished product off. In addition, I've been crocheting tiny versions of all my friends for their birthdays this year and the last two have mega curly hair, which has been time consuming to say the least.
I'm working on my first guest blog appearance as well. I'll be writing a column for CanArtisan, I suggest you check it out.
And that's me. Hopefully I'll find some time to make the blog all pretty soooon. AND I'll be listing some new stuff on ArtFire as soon as I find the time to take some pictures and the like.

Under Construction
Bare with me folks, I'm trying to come up with a better look for the blog, so there might be some weird in between changes that are going to be happening in the next 24 hours or so. Sorry for the inconvenience.
It's a Needle Felted Mushroom Brooch!
I just realized that it's been a while since I posted any of MY creations, what a sad, sad thing. So I post to you, with great pleasure, my newest creation:

Behold! A mushroom that you can wear on your blouse, or jacket or even your purse. I think that everyone has that ONE friend who is totally into mushrooms, don't know why, they just are.
That person for me is my sister. Her middle name is morel and ever since she found out that it's a type of mushroom she's been obsessed. She decorates with everything mushroom when she can, her house and her body (she even has a 'shroom tattoo). So Jen, this one's for you!

Say It With a Magnet.
Have you heard the news? Giving a card for a special occasion is so OUT this season. Everyone who's in the know knows that MAGNETS are the way to go.
And you're in luck! There happens to be a great selection of magnets for ANY occasion available on ArtFire, made by the wonderful PicardCreative.
Don't believe me? See for yourself:
Not only are these magnets functional, but they're hilarious AND awesome. I don't think that life can get any better than that.

eeeeeeeee!
Some of you may not know this, but I am a HUGE No Doubt fan. They've been my favorite band since I was 12 years old. And guess what? They just released a new single! It's a cover of the Adam & The Ants Stand and Deliver. Guess what? It's AWESOME. Check it for yourself:
Apparently, they're going to be on Gossip Girl next month performing the song. I've never seen the show, but I guess I'll have to watch just THAT episode.
I just thought of how I can relate this post to crafting! When I was at the peak of my No Doubt fanaticism, I made scrapbooks, like a bunch of them, entirely dedicated to No Doubt. The covers of the albums were collages of pictures I had collected on the internet and then printed off. I used to spend hours and hours gluing them all down. I still have them, full of clippings from about '97 to 2003. When I went to university I didn't have the time or money to keep it up. No Doubt are still the only thing I get kinda crazy fan girl over though. Well, maybe Firefly comes in a close second.
Let the fandom begin!

It's a Needle Felted Morning Glory!
So, here I am continuing my adventure into needle felting. I've been thinking about my mom's gardens lately and that always reminds me of the stunning morning glories she grows every year. Here's my homage:

It's 100% needle felted, no wires, or wet felting involved. It's also for sale on ArtFire, click on any of the pictures and it'll take you there.
This has also been an adventure in photography for me, which has been pretty fun. I have concluded that I need a bigger and better lightbox. Good thing we STILL haven't thrown away all the boxes from moving. It's times like these that I feel justified in being a packrat.
Comments are always welcome and encouraged. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out.

Cap'n Skulduggery Dug and her crew of Pixie Pirates
Come gather ye round and I shall tell you the tale of Captain Skulduggery Dug...
Captain Skulduggery Dug was tired of all the scurrilous scurvy dogs in her ships crew. They stole, drank her rum, a group of scallywags they were. Cap'n Skully decided enough was enough and she made them all walk the plank into shark infested waters. One by one they were all gobbled up never to be seen again. Yar!
This left our fair Cap'n all alone, with but only her faithful mutt,Doubloon to keep her company. Late one night, with Doubloon at the helm, the galleon ran aground on a beautiful island. The bump woke Cap'n Dug from her slumber. Confused, she stumbled up onto the deck to find the galleon slumped at an angle and illuminated by hundreds of tiny sparkling coloured lights. Doubloon was hiding under an empty barrel, frightened that good ol' Captain's blood would boil.
As the Captain's eyes became adjusted to the lights she realized that each light was coming from a tiny little person that appeared to be fixing up, cleaning and polishing her tatty, tired old galleon. In awe she moved closer to one and saw that it was a wee little matey. She looked at others, on their heads they wore a variety of cute woolly hats and sprouted from their backs were the most gorgeous twinkling wings that gave off the light. Skully shook her head and rubbed her eyes. Surely she must be dreaming, or maybe she'd had too much grog, but no, she really did have a new crew of Pirate Pixies.
Come the morning, the high tide had lifted the galleon off the sand and it was floating back out to sea, for new adventures, with a brand new crew.
Yaaaarrrr mateys, these words be true, if ye look off into the distance at night, sometimes you can see the lights a twinklin'. Still don't believe? Here be the evidence:
